OnePlus Nord N20 is on sale now from T-Mobile in the US

OnePlus has been busy creating a variety of phones in 2022, with handsets available for most people’s budgets. To continue this trend, the company is releasing a successor to its popular
OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which first made its debut back in November 2020.
We’ve gathered together all the latest news about the new budget phone, so here’s our guide to the OnePlus Nord N20 5G.
When will the OnePlus Nord N20 be released?
The OnePlus Nord N20 is on sale now in the US, where it hit stores on 28 April.
The launch followed the announcements of the
OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G and the
OnePlus 10 Pro, and came on the same day that the
OnePlus 10R and
Nord CE 2 Lite launched in India.
The Nord N20 has so far only been confirmed for North America though, and it’s likely that the N20 will remain an American exclusive.
How much does the OnePlus Nord N20 5G cost?
When it launched, the Nord N20 was exclusive to T-Mobile (and its sub-brand Metro) in the US, and arrived at an oddly specific price: $282. That actually comes from the calculation that you can grab it on a plan from $11.75 a month for 24 months, which makes a little more sense.
It took a few months, but the phone is now more widely available SIM-free in the States. You can grab it for $299 from AmazonBest Buy, or from OnePlus itself. Just note that the N20 does have limitations: while it will work fully on T-Mobile, it will be 4G-only if you plug in an AT&T SIM, and won’t work at all on Verizon.
To put the price in context, here’s how a few other affordable OnePlus devices line-up:
- OnePlus Nord N100: £179/€199/$179.99 (approx ₹18,165)
- OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G: £299/€349/₹24,999 (approx $395)
- OnePlus Nord 2 5G: £399/€499/₹29,999 (approx $525)
What are the OnePlus Nord N20 specs and features?
OnePlus has now confirmed the full specs of the Nord N20, which offers decent performance for the price – at least on paper.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset, along with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage – expandable up to a further 512GB via microSD. Notably, the 695 includes support for 5G connectivity.
A 4500mAh battery is backed up by 33W wired charging.
The 6.43in screen is AMOOLED, which is welcome, but is limited to 60Hz refresh rate. It does offer FHD+ resolution at least though, along with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
As for the camera, there’s a 64Mp main lens, backed up by a pair of monochrome and macro sensors, with a 16Mp selfie camera on the front.
Probably the biggest downside is that the N20 launches with
Android 11. While it will likely be upgraded to
Android 12 eventually, it’s launching behind the curve and we’re not sure how many Android version updates the phone will receive across its lifetime.
