Windows 11 22H2, is your PC compatible? It is possible to check it now – GinjFo

Windows 11 22H2 will begin rolling out in fall 2022. The operating system is going to have hardware requirements to install. Microsoft has discreetly activated a registry key to check the compatibility of your PC with this next version of Windows 11.
During the official announcement of Windows 11 Microsoft revealed the hardware requirements to take advantage of it. This compatibility has since been a source of controversy because millions of PCs have become obsolete despite having sufficient power to run it in good conditions.
The arrival of the 22H2 feature update is not going to fundamentally change things. The utility ” PC Health Check allows you to ensure the eligibility of your PC with Windows 11 but 22H2 is not supported at this time. Fortunately, a new registry key has been discovered. It lets you know if the PC is capable of running Windows 11 22H2 (Fall 2022 Update).
Windows 11 and the registry
Here is the procedure to find it. It requires intervention in the Windows registry. The maneuver is therefore delicate and recommended only for advanced users.
Open the Registry Editor to go to the following address
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\TargetVersionUpgradeExperienceIndicators
To check compatibility with 22H2, open NI22H2, NI stands for “Nickel” while “22H2” stands for the updated version. If you double click on this value, you will notice “RedReason”. If the value is NONE, your device is ready for the feature update. In other words, Microsoft won’t block the update when it rolls out in a few months. If any other value is present you will not be able to perform the upgrade. There is not a universal value as it depends on the compatibility issue.
For instance ” UEFISecureBoot TPM indicates concern about security constraints. Note that the entry ” SystemDriveTooFull » informs on its side if the available storage allows 22H2 to settle. If the numeric value is 1, your device does not have enough storage.
It is said that Microsoft deploys this registry key through the installation of Windows 10 and Windows 11 21H2.
