How to run high-risk Windows 11 applications in a virtual environment with Hysolate
When you install and run applications on your Windows 11 computer from unverified sources, you risk getting infected with all kinds of malware. However, opening these high-risk applications in a sandbox environment does not pose any potential risk. That’s because sandbox is a virtual machine completely separate from your actual system, meaning nothing can spread outside of it.
Hysolate is an application that allows you to easily create this virtual environment to test those high-risk applications. Here’s how to download and use it. Check out the best safe websites to download Windows software for free.
How to download Hysolate on Windows 11
Before downloading Hysolate, you should check if your Windows PC meets the requirements. At a minimum, you’ll need a computer running Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a solid state drive (SSD).
Hysolate has two different versions that you can download: the free version and the corporate version. If you just want to test high-risk apps, the free version is all you need. You don’t need any of the advanced features that come with the Enterprise Edition.
So when you’re ready, head over to Hysolate download page and click Download now.
This will not download Hysolate immediately, as you will have to fill out a form first. Just enter your first and last name and email address in the form, then click Hysolate free download.
You will then get an email with a link to download Hysolate (check your inbox for the email address you entered). Once the email is open, tap Download Hysolate.
After Windows has finished downloading Hysolate, go to where it was saved. Double-click on the installation file and follow the instructions to install the application on your Windows 11 device.
Once Windows completes the installation process, Hysolate will become part of the startup applications. This can significantly slow down your computer. So, if you don’t want this, you can remove it from your startup apps list so you can launch it manually whenever you want.
How to switch from your primary environment to the default Hysolate environment in Windows 11
With Hysolate running, you can switch to its virtual environment, also known as a workspace, by pressing
Win + Alt + مفتاح السهم الأيسر أو مفتاح السهم الأيمن. Pressing the same combination of keys will remove you from the workspace and return you to your main environment. However, Hysolate will still run in the background.
Alternatively, you can right-click the Hysolate icon in the system tray area of the taskbar and select environment switch To switch between your main environment and the Hysolate workspace.
To close Hysolate, right-click its icon in the system tray area of the taskbar and select Exit.
A pop-up will appear in the upper-right corner of your screen, so tap yes exit to completely close the Hysolate virtual environment.
As you can see, using Hysolate to turn on Windows 11 sandbox is much easier compared to setting up a virtual machine with applications like Hyper-V, VirtualBox, and VMWare.
Hysolate Flavors: Comparison of Endpoint Threat and Sensitive Access
Hysolate comes in two flavors or configurations: endpoint threats and sensitive access.
Endpoint threats are the configuration you want when you need an isolated environment to perform risky activities on your computer, such as installing high-risk applications. The flavor of sensitive access is used when you want an isolated environment that is completely hidden from malicious screen capture or keylogger applications that may be lurking in your system’s core environment. You can change the flavors at any time, and it’s easy to do.
To change the flavors in Hysolate, right-click the Hysolate icon in the system tray area of the taskbar. then select Settings.
In Hysolate settings, tap Hysolate flavor in the left side menu and select the flavor you want on the right by clicking the button Flavor change.
Confirm that you want to switch flavors by clicking Yes, change the flavor. Hysolate will then switch to the new flavor, but this may take some time to load, so be patient.
Keep in mind that changing flavors will essentially delete the workspace you’re in and create a new one, which means all apps, files, folders, and settings in the current virtual environment will be deleted. How to safely run a high-risk application with Hysolate in Windows 11
To install high-risk applications in Hysolate, choose the flavor of endpoint threats in the application settings and go to the workspace once it is fully loaded. Right away, you will notice that Hysolate already has some pre-installed applications, such as Google Chrome and Notepad. You can then use Chrome to download high-risk applications that you were hesitant to try in your primary environment.
If you have already installed the high-risk application on your system but are afraid to run it, you can open it in the workspace instead. While Hysolate is running, right-click on the suspicious application and select
إظهار المزيد من الخيارات -> فتح في مساحة العمل.
You can also open or copy other things in the Hysolate workspace, such as untrusted files, folders, and USB drives.
Can I use the Chrome browser pre-installed in my workspace to visit high-risk websites?
Yes you can. As with apps, you can visit high-risk websites and not worry about your system getting infected with malware when you use the flavor of endpoint threats. Moreover, Windows will also install the Hysolate extension on Chrome during the installation of the main application. While in your main environment, you can open a suspicious link in the workspace by right-clicking on it and selecting Open in Hysolate.
You can also visit websites where you enter sensitive information, such as your personal and financial details, with peace of mind when using a flavor of sensitive access.
In fact, the Hysolate extension on Chrome can detect when you visit a sensitive site in your primary environment. When the extension comes across a website that is believed to be sensitive, you will see a popup in the upper right corner of the Chrome window. And when you click add as a sensor In the popup, Hysolate will redirect the link to the workspace and automatically open the website in the pre-installed Chrome browser.
Now, every time you visit that website that you added as a sensitive site, Hysolate, as long as it is active, will automatically open it in the workspace. Check out the best and easy ways to boost security in Microsoft Defender and Windows 10.
What happens in Hysolate stays in Hysolate

You can even visit sensitive and vulnerable websites safely with peace of mind. This is because what you do in that environment will not affect your computer at all.
As long as your computer meets the minimum requirements, you can download and run Hysolate with relative ease. Now you can check out how to enable Hyper-V in Windows 11 to create a virtual machine.
